Time to get busy

I have busy lately. I sold a blanket that I made. Here are two gifts that I made for my mom. I used leaves to make these canvases.  

I was going to this as a backup gift, but as I got started, I had to finish it. I think that it came out well. 

I have to go and finish the Paris mittens.

Hi everyone,
I know that it has been a couple of months, but the semester is almost over. Then I can crafted.
Things that I have to work on:

• My mom's Christmas gift

• Paris mittens-the women that bought my scarf wants the mittens so I am starting to work on those.
• a sugar bowl cover-another women came in the shoppe the other day and wanted a sugar and creamer set. The one we have didn't have a lid for the sugar bowl cover, so I will have to make it for her. Will do that after finals.

I sold the scarf!!!

I was selling the Paris scarf at a local shoppe and I got a message from the owner saying that it has been sold. Apparently she also told the costumer that I was making the mittens and she eye bugged out of her head. I am still working on perfecting the mittens, so I don't know I would have a pair finished for her.

New Inspiration

I love to find new ideas from many different sources. Lately, I get many of my ideas from pinterest, but I still love to find new ideas from books and magazines. A good craft magazine (at least to my standards) are getting hard to find. Two magazines that I loved to look through have been discontinued and my local grocery store has a very limited selection. I don't get up to a Barnes and Noble to often to browse through their selection. Today, I bought the Knitscene Winter 2014 and I can't wait to look through it. I still need to get the latest issue of "Jane Austen Knits." Anyone have any suggestion of crocheting or knitting magazines?

I'm still crafting

I know it has been quite a while since I posted anything. It has been a little crazy with school. I have a long weekend now and I plan on knitting and getting supplies to try new crafts.
I am still working on my mittens. I am about halfway done with the cuff of the second one.

Update

Hello there,
        I have been busy the past couple of weeks. The crafts that I have working on included Paris mittens, a scarf that includes the Eiffel tower pattern from the mittens, and the silhouette Disney paintings. I have made about six paintings. I am working on opening an Esty store, "Small City Vast Crafter." All the items that I am making will be for sale on the store. i am also selling my knitted items at a local store, so some items may be available for a limited time.

Finished another

I finished another canvas, but this time, I did the little mermaid. I believe that it came out very well. 

Sweetheart Bags Finished!!!

I actually finished two sweetheart bags. I made one green and another red. I think they came out very well.

Jane Austen weekend

My family and I are going to Jane Austen weekend at the Genesee Country Museum. I am so excited!!! I have watched a few adaptations of her novels over the past few days. 

I started a project from the Jane Austen Knits called Sweetheart Bag. As of right now I finished the edging. 

Here is what it will look like when it is finished. 

Good and bad news

Let's start with the bad news. I tried to transfer the photo and it didn't come out the way that I wanted.

This is how it turned out. I will do more research and try again, but maybe a different photo. 

Now the good new. I finished the dishcloth. 

I also have got further in the book clutch. I made to "The Snow Queen" and now I want to try to carefully cut the the pages out so I can possibly use it for another project. 

Photo transfer

I am trying to transfer a photo onto a canvas by using a gel medium. Now I have to wait 24 hours to see if it worked. Fingers crossed!!!

I thought that this would be a cool project. I started it a few weeks ago, but I had to work on a shawl. I will get back to it after I finish the dishcloth. Here are a few pictures of how far I got and a link to where I found this project.

Right now I am working on a lace scarf and a washcloth. Then I want to find another "big" project.

My Infinity Scarf is Finished!!!

I finished my favorite things infinity scarf yesterday. It is now about 80 inches. It was fun to make got to experiment with patterns that I felt described me. I actually designed a couple of patterns. Go to my ravelery account (link below) for more photos and I will put more photos up soon. I will also put my patterns up soon.

I love Frozen!!! The story, the music, and Idina Menzel. I found this photo online and I would love to try to make something like this Olaf doll. Maybe for when my sister has a child. She loves the movie about as much as I do.

I'm back

Sorry that I have not posted in a while. It has been crazy with school, but I have crafted a little bit. 

I finished the sontag shawl and sold it to the person that requested that I make it. She was using it for a civil war reenactment. Then my mom got me a couple of pattern books from that reenactment. Then mom was saying that if I make some of the patterns for next year's reenactment, that I could get a tent. I guess that I could, I do have all summer to work on the projects.

At the moment, I am working on a lace scarf because it is easy to carry and the pattern is very simple to remember.

I finished!!!

I finished the sontag shawl. It is all weaved in and cleaned up. Now it just has to be picked up. I just wished that I took a picture before I left to come back to school.

I am almost done with the shawl that I have been working on. I am on the last row. So, I just need to finish that row, bind off, and weave in the yarn ends. I will also clean it.

Far away!

I know that I posted this song earlier, but some lyrics relate to how I feel. "I wish I could fly and magically appear and disappear. I wish I could fly. I'd fly far away from here."

I need a day off

I had a reading done by a medium the other day. She was great and one thing that she said was that I need a day off. A day where I don't have to worry about anything. I was thinking, "Don't I know it." I know that it happen until the semester is over. I would just sit and watch movies and knit! Just a little over a month!

Creating a book

I believe that a crochet magazine that I really enjoyed has been cancelled.It had some really nice and modern patterns. The same thing occurred to a knitting magazine that I liked, a couple of years ago. So, I am thinking, what if I create my own? I have created a couple of intarsia knitting charts. I also have books of different stitches. I should start experimenting with them. Then do some writing and see where if leads.

Some progress

I have been trying to get work done for, but my head still feels a little dead from break. I think that I am just tired. I still find some time to knit. My favorite thing to do while knitting is watch TV. So I will put on a TV show on my computer and knit.

I stated in an earlier post that I am working on a sontag shawl for someone. I started it 8 days ago and I have gotten a bit done. I would say that I am about halfway done.

It may not look like a shawl at the moment because it has to done on circular needles since each row increases in length.

New poll question

I just added a new poll question. I am trying to make my blog more about crafts, so that is what the poll question is about. "What is your favorite craft?" My answer would have to be needlework. I knit and crochet whenever I have free time. I would love to learn to sew and there are many other craft projects I want to try. Thank you pinterest!

Craft Idea
